Registration for field trips is now open through June 2025!
Self-guided visit registration request
Thank you for your interest in a field trip to the Seattle Aquarium!
The request form linked below is for schools requesting self-guided visits only. Please refer to the group visit request for all corporate, public and other non-school groups.
A self-guided visit provides admission to explore the Aquarium at your own pace without any additional scheduled programming. We encourage you to refer to our daily activities to add educational components to your visit without needing to schedule a specific class time.
If you’d like a 60-minute educational program in our upstairs classrooms as part of your Aquarium field trip, please visit our on-site classes page instead of booking a self-guided visit. Please note: We are NOT able to change self-guided visits to on-site class programs after they have been booked.
Requests must be made at least two weeks before your desired date. School group rates are $10 per person for all attendees ages 4 and over. There is no admission charge for children ages 3 and under. College/university groups and homeschool families qualify for the school group rate—scout troops and other non-school groups do not. See below for information on scholarships.
After booking your program, you will receive more information to help your students prepare for their visit to the Aquarium. Please read all correspondence from registration@seattleaquarium.org carefully as we try to cover everything you need to know about what to expect from your field trip. Still have questions? Please visit our School Group FAQ. While the section is labeled “on-site classes,” much of this information still applies to self-guided visits (including answers about loading zones, lunch areas and more).
Does your group qualify for free admission through our scholarship program?
Washington state schools with 40% or more free/reduced lunch participants, ESL/ELL, special education classes and/or ECEAPs can apply. Approved scholarship groups receive paid Aquarium admission and a reimbursement of up to $500 per bus rented to bring your students on their field trip.
The admission scholarship application and bus reimbursement form will be emailed to the address you provide. A school/office administrator's signature is required to confirm eligibility. This form will arrive via a separate email through DocuSign. It should automatically be sent to your office administrator after you complete and sign your sections.
We will reimburse up to $500 per bus, with no cap on the number of buses used (within reason). This form will arrive via a separate email through DocuSign after your visit.
You may contact the registration office with questions at registration@seattleaquarium.org or (206) 693-6196. Please note that it may take two to three business days for you to receive a response. Our office hours are 8am–5pm PST, Monday through Friday.
Thank you!
